This four-piece band have been covered in a previous Beat The Static post, and 2011 brings more news Polly And The Billets Doux are due to go on tour next month following the re-release of their single Follow My Feet on February 21.

The guys will be bringing their multi-instrumental folk sound, with a bit of a soulful twist, to various venues around the UK.

Brand Spanking New: Polly And The Billets Doux

Polly And The Billets Doux have already caused quite a stir in musical circles, Uncut Magazine gave a shining review; “The new Duffy? No! Polly Perry’s way better!”

That’s a pretty big build-up.

Comprised of Polly Perry on lead vocals and double bass, Dan Everett on double & electric bass, acoustic guitar, organ, and vocals, Ben Perry on drums and percussion, and Steeny on electric and acoustic guitar, harmonica, organ and piano, it’s a pretty multi-talented, multi-instrument outfit. By expanding on the standard guitar, bass and drums combination, Polly and co. have the ability to create an original, rich sound.

The end result is fun, upbeat and folksy, with a smooth soul element that mainly has to be attributed to Polly’s sexy, raspy vocals.
