New Tour: The Dirty Beggars

The Dirty Beggars are an energetic fivesome from Glasgow, that dabble in the Americana, bluegrass and country genres to create a sound that makes you want to don a denim-gingham outfit and embark on some enthusiastic thigh slapping.

With an impressively convincing southern American accent, harmonicas, acoustic guitars, and a double bass, and all audio traces of the band’s Scottish roots are banished. This is a bit of a shame – I’d love to hear what a Scottish mid-west clash of music would sound like – but they do create something really authentic with high quality production and some faultless vocal harmonies.

If country is your cup of tea, this band is really fun and will undoubtedly give a good show.

The guys are about to go on tour, so if you fancy a southern England style hoe-down, go and check them out for yourself:

Sun 10 July – The Brentwood Festival, Essex

Mon 11 July – Owlsworld @ The Old Barn, Herts

Tue 12 July – The Windmill Brixton, London

Wed 13 July – The Betsey Trotwood, Clerkenwell, London

Thu 14 July – What’s Cookin @ The North Star, Leytonstone, London
